"There is nothing wrong with the argument for judicial activism. Except, unfortunately, that it is an equally good argument for military activism."

That's a brilliant line. Great article.

That was a fine piece of thinking and writing. Your comments would apply here, as well as, in Pakistan. The saving grace here is that we can mouth off about stuff that is in the judicial grist mill, which nevers seems to find resolution even after the SCOTUS lays down the law.

Liked your work, its unusual for an Advocate to come out with work like this but I think as we move forward, the Judicial activism will also bring more learned people to the profession.

I think it is a bit more than usual naive analysis a nation so confused over its identity that it does not mind probing deep into what is going around. Why and how people are dying around us, how HEC ran itself in the past and how is it running now, how many more souls will be sold to keep the financial flow of the country running, which by the way is only by virtue of US aid and no other source, and on top of all, how to address a fact that the leaders (from yesterday and today) governing our country (So called Islami Jamhooria) are not practicing Muslims i.e. they do not perform basic pillars of Deen and they do drink alcohol, to say the least, which is Haraam, not to mention what else have they been doing. I am not saint but I think Allah will not let us come out of suffering because WE ARE UNDULY COMPLAISANT, and we are destined to be perished, if are way remains unaltered.

I disagree with the goal and the means both. I don't believe anybody has a right to shove their views down anybody else's throat. I believe in inalienable human rights including the right to freedom of religion and freedom of opinion. And I disagree with the entire vision of the Shariah as a time-bound, historical artifact presented by the Taliban.
